Getting Started

Everything you need to get Crest running in your server.

Adding Crest

Click Add to Discord, pick your server, and approve the requested permissions. Crest needs Administrator to guarantee every feature works out of the box — moderation actions, channel management, role assignment — but nothing runs automatically. AutoMod, for instance, stays off until you turn it on yourself.

Once it's in your server, open the dashboard to configure it visually, or use commands directly in Discord.

Prefix & Permissions

The default prefix is , — change it under General in the dashboard, or with ,settings prefix <symbol>. You can also just @mention Crest instead of typing the prefix.

Most configuration commands need Manage Server. You can grant bot-level staff access to specific roles (without handing out real Discord permissions) under General → Staff Roles.

Moderation & Security

Crest's moderation suite covers warns, kicks, bans, timeouts, and jail (a jail role + channel combo that isolates a member without removing them from the server). Every action is logged to a case history — set a Mod Log Channel under Moderation in the dashboard to see them as they happen.

AutoMod filters banned words, domains, and regex patterns automatically, with an optional strike system that escalates repeat offenders toward a real punishment. It's entirely opt-in — nothing is filtered until you enable it and add at least one rule.

Community Tools

Welcome and leave messages, boost announcements, tickets, starboard, reaction roles, and autoresponders are all configurable from the dashboard or directly via commands — browse the full list on the Commands page.

Economy & Leveling

Members earn XP from chatting and can be granted roles at specific levels. The economy system gives every member a balance, a shop, and jobs to earn from. Both can be tuned or disabled entirely from the dashboard.

Music

Play from YouTube, SoundCloud, or Spotify links directly in voice with ,play <song or link>. Spotify links resolve to a YouTube search under the hood, since Spotify's own audio can't be streamed by a bot. Set a DJ role or a 24/7 channel under Music in the dashboard.

FAQ

Commands aren't responding. Check Crest has permission to view and send messages in that channel, and that the command isn't disabled server-wide (,disable list).

Can I change what a command is called? Yes — ,alias add <shortcut> <command> lets you set your own shortcuts.
